Welcome to Gdynia - Whoever wishes to experience the charm and the beauty of Gdynia is best advised to walk up the Kamienna Góra Hill (54 meters above the sea level). The place commands a marvellous view of the whole city, the wooded hills, the port and the boundless sea. It is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Poland. It is worthwhile to plan a trip around the city while you are on top of the hill. Your itinerary must not exclude the Kosciuszki Square - "an open air salon" of Poland. It is to here that the kings, admirals and heads of state come and so does every Pole with a bit of self-respect.

It is here that one can see historic ships such as the oldest destroyer in the world "ORP Blyskawica", a frigate "Dar Pomorza", modern sailing boats and yachts, a very hospitable stylised restaurant boat "Viking", fishing and cruising boats and the biggest pleasure - boats from the world all over. A liner "Ship Avenue" the only one in Europe has been built here to better accommodate the pleasure - boat traffic. Near by is the Oceanographic Museum and Sea Aquarium that house scores of marine fauna and flora exhibits. The Naval Academy is close by as is the "Gemini" Entertainment Centre. Most importantly though, all these are only a few minutes walk from the city centre.

By far, sailing is the sport that can boast of both the longest tradition and the most best facilities. The biggest and continually modernized marina will be a safe haven for both the tourists and sailors worn out by their journey. Its number one asset is a close proximity to the city centre. Sailing families come to the marina all the more often as they find it a real safe haven and a hospitable place to be. Motor boating has recently come to be a new craze in Gdynia. If you have a license, you can hire a Ribb pneumatic motorboat to speed around the gulf waters. Those without a license are welcome to use a sea- cab ... The important thing is that everything is available to tourist as well as club members.
